21st CCLC and ASSETs Grantee Orientations

21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) and High School After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens (ASSETs) Grantee Orientations

Date: Thursday, October 11, 2007
Time: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (8:00 to 8:30 AM registration and breakfast)
Location: Lion’s Gate Conference Center (free shuttle from airport), 3410
Westover Street, Sacramento, California 95652 (Formerly McClellan Air Force Base) 
Cost: $25 (Includes a continental breakfast and resource materials. Lunch is on your own and will be available at the site).

What: This training will be presented by the CDE After School staff and after school practitioners from the field to assist grantees in meeting the program requirements and implementing effective, quality programs. Topics will include:

  • An introduction to the broad concepts/tools that support effective program development, operation, evaluation and continuous improvement;
  • Practical information and lessons learned from experienced after school program grantees;
  • Strategies to successfully plan and implement a quality program;
  • An introduction to available resources;
  • Fiscal reporting; and
  • An opportunity to network with other grantees during lunch.

Who:  This orientation is required for all 21st CCLC and ASSETs grantees (Cohort 2, 3, and 4).

Grantees are strongly encouraged to bring a team of 2-3 participants that include staff who are responsible for program implementation, operation, compliance and fiscal operations.
