Description of Program :

The Talking Points program at the Cartoon Art Museum is a free after-school program for
San Francisco Bay Area high-school-age youth sponsored by the San Francisco Department of Children, Youth and Families. Classes meet once a week after school and on select Saturdays on-site at the Cartoon Art Museum near Mission and 3rd Streets in downtown San Francisco. In this program students illustrate, design characters, and write stories. They also learn the principles of animation, Flash (digital) animation, Adobe Photoshop, sound recording, and video production. Students will work together in groups to produce public service announcements and other digitally produced animated and live action video spots. Upon completion of the Cartoon Art Museum Talking Points Program, outstanding graduates may be recommended for internships at professional Bay Area animation studios.
