Through courageous conversations, this course examines issues of equity and diversity through a youth development lens, and offers strategies for healing oppression in our work with youth.
This unique workshop offers fresh ideas for building safe spaces, and empowering methods that bring equity practices to youth programs and organizations. We will introduce a new perspective to help youth workers understand the types of power that influence the environment and the culture of the populations that they serve.
What Will I Learn?
Participants learn a process for enabling youth and staff to share personal experiences and viewpoints on issues of power, age, gender, sexuality, race and access.
Who Should Attend?
Staff who work with youth of all ages in out-of-school settings. Administrative & management staff can also benefit from this training.
