Lindsay Callahan
Biography
Lindsay Callahan is the founding Executive Director of the Central Valley Afterschool Foundation. Lindsay has extensive experience in afterschool programs at the state, regional and local levels. As Executive Director, Lindsay is responsible for supporting and promoting quality afterschool programs in the Central Valley. Under her leadership, The Central Valley Afterschool Foundation has provided outreach to hundreds of afterschool programs.
An expert in afterschool, Lindsay spent five years managing and leading the California After School Partnership on behalf of the Foundation Consortium for California’s Children and Youth. Lindsay has also held a number of policy positions in the areas of education, human services, consumer rights and transportation. A leader in afterschool policy, Lindsay was part of the team that crafted the afterschool reform legislation (SB 638) in 2006. Currently, Lindsay is the chair of the California After School Network and an active participant in state level policy groups and discussions.
Lindsay has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Davis and a Master of Public Policy and Administration from California State University, Sacramento. Lindsay spends all of her free time chasing after her husband and two boys.
