Torrie Dunlap

Biography

Torrie has been involved with KIT since 1999, first as a KIT affiliate, then a board member, the Program Coordinator and now the Director, National Training Center on Inclusion. Torrie holds a degree in Theatre for Young Audiences from San Diego State University and has 16 years experience as an arts educator and administrator, always including children with disabilities, most notably as the Education Director for San Diego Junior Theatre for 11 years. Torrie has received several national awards for her work, including a Lewis Hine Service to Children Award and a National Honor Award for Program Excellence from Boys & Girls Clubs of America. She has extensive experience developing curriculum for both children and adults and has presented workshops for many national and regional conferences. Torrie has held leadership positions with the American Alliance for Theatre and Education, chairing their national conference in 2001. Torrie is currently a member of the California Afterschool Network Leadership Team, the California School-Age Consortium and the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD).
