Are Afterschool programs at churches exempt from being licensed?

Hi,
I am trying to find out if a non-profit organization (church) is exempt from getting a license for having an afterschool program. It will not be on a school site. Any info is helpful!

ASP licensing
I am a director for an afterschool program with the Salvation Army and we are not licensed. Also, the program is held in our building. I work with several other directors, some are in the process of becoming licensed, some are not. It is different for each of us because of the states we're in. We are in the greater Cincinnati area and 3 of the programs are inside Cinci and 2 are just across the border in Kentcuky. So the rules are different for each of us. Check with your states guidelines to be sure about licensing.
