Freshi Film Festival: You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet

July 19, 9am-6pm, is the 14th Freshi Film Festival showcasing films and screenplays submitted by young creatives 8-18 years of age. The films have come from all over the country with some films coming from as far as India, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and Scotland. The best of the films submitted will be shown on one of the big screens at Raleigh Studios during the days of the festival. Awards for the Best of the Fest for both screenwriters and filmmakers will be given at the end of the day in an award ceremony highlighting upcoming musical talent and acting talent.

The Finalist screenplays are in the process of being announced and they will each receive a professional reading of a segment of the work in front of a live audience. Each reading will be followed with a question and answer session with the screenwriters who are present. Like the films, the screenplays have come from around the country and represent some of the biggest and brightest creative minds of the Next-generation.

Besides the showcasing of outstanding films and screenplays, the Festival is hosting the LA Zoo Mobile with a wide assortment of reptiles and bugs on display, “My Beauty” Make-Up Mobile for fashion and effects make-up, hands-on workshops in Stunts, Voice Over for Animation, Directing and Producing. There will be a fight choreography session where everyone gets involved and lots of celebrity signings, networking, and a chance for young, creative kids to meet and greet their peers.

The festival is held at Raleigh Studios in the heart of Hollywood just across the street from Paramount Studios on the corner of Van Ness and Melrose Avenues. The admission is one price for the whole day at $15 per ticket. Lunch is provided at an additional $10. There is a special price for non-profits, groups and educational agencies.
