Beyond School Hours Conference:the Winter Institute--Graduating to the Next Level will take place from February 11-14, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency, San Francisco Airport in beautiful Burlingame, California.

The BSH conference is a centralized, annual event that has become a staple within the industry. BSH brings together over one thousand afterschool professionals from the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. The conference represents an invaluable opportunity for afterschool educators to get what they need to better develop and sustain their programs.

Foundations BSH conferences are produced through the partnership of leading forces in the field of afterschool education including the U.S. Department of Education, 21st Century Community Learning Centers Programs, The Annie E. Casey Foundation, The Annenberg Foundation and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. Many attendees of the BSH conferences rely on these groups for the support and resources they need to remain informed and energized as they strive to deliver high quality programs year round.

Conference Agenda
The conference consists of an opening reception, two-and one-half days of dynamic keynote speakers, institutes, and over forty carefully designed workshops that address the complex issues of afterschool programming. An interactive exhibit arena is also available between sessions and main events. Participants learn from the country’s most experienced afterschool experts who lead sessions on new teaching strategies, program and curriculum design, professional development, fundraising, technology and evaluation.

Attendees can also take part in organized site visits to exemplary school and community-based afterschool programs in the host city. These site visits give attendees a chance to see the community, examine successful programs in action, talk with teachers, staff and volunteers, and observe students in program activities.
