Attendance recording

I am the coordinator for the Sequoia High School After School Program. We are in our first year of implementation. Our program is certainly growing and improving, but I would love to hear from other programs how they are confronting the fact that after-school programs are funded at about 50% of the per pupil expenditure of regular school day programs. I received a $250k grant and am supposed to serve 150 kids per day. This seems like a bit of a stretch. What strategies are you all using to get high participation at low cost?

ADA issues

This was a concern for us too (we have 4 HS prgs we run) but have found some amazing (and cheap) community resources. The police department runs martial arts classes and cooking for free as a means to bond with the students and local businesses have agreed to job training curriculums. We have also used our high end and more expensive classes (mountain biking, skateboarding, backpacking) as the carrot and required daily attendance at less costly (often free) classes to drive down the costs. I would be happy to talk more.
