On March 17, 2009 the Network Quality Committee hosted the Making a Difference in After School - Measuring and Improving After School Programs workshop in Sacramento, CA. The workshop featured Robert C. Granger; President of the W.T. Grant Foundation and Nicole Yohalem; Program Director for the Forum for Youth Investment. The workshop focused on what is known about the ability of after-school programs to make a difference on academic and other outcomes, how leading researchers are defining and measuring program quality, and how practitioners and policy makers at the state and local levels are building systems aimed at improving quality. Much of the workshop content addressed the California After School Programs Quality Self Assessment tool specifically.
