Two After School Bills Pass Assembly Education Committee

AB 434 (Block) and AB 364 (Torlakson) recently passed the Assembly Education Committee and will now move to the Assembly appropriations committee. AB 434 (Block) proposes that 100% of the after school site coordinator's time spent at the after school program site would be recorded as direct service. AB 364 (Torlakson) would establish a Teacher Pipeline project for after school employees who are not directly employed by school districts. This bill would expand an existing teacher pipeline project that assists after school program staff to become teachers.
