In order to help students connect their future dreams to their current education, Darrell “Coach D” Andrews, America’s Passion Coach and author of The Purpose Living Teen-A Teens Guide To Living Your Dreams and Believing the HYPE-Seven Keys To Motivating Students of Color relies on two basic philosophies: Kids are not committed to programs, kids are committed to people and A student with a dream is a student with a future, however a student with a dream is fueled by a caring adult who believes in their dreams. This dynamic keynote speech is designed to help after- school programs improve their level of student connectedness and personalization that leads to academic and life success. Coach D will provide motivational insights based upon his successful HYPE (Helping Youth Pursue Excellence) after-school and summer youth program. HYPE used the power of student connectedness as well as the synergy of student dreams to decrease the drop-out rates and improve college attendance for hundreds of student program participants. Event attendees will walk away with increased motivation as well as easy to implement success strategies.
Biography
Darrell “Coach D” Andrews is the president of Darrell Andrews Enterprises. He is known worldwide as America’s Passion Coach. Coach D is the author of the books How To Find Your Passion And Make A Living At It, Believing the HYPE: 7 Keys To Motivating Students of Color and The Purpose Living Teen-A Teen’s Guide To Living Your Dreams. Coach D’s personal story of triumph 5 Garbage Bags And A Dream is highlighted in the book Chicken Soup For The African American Soul. Maya Angelou, Dr. Martin Luther King and Colin Powell’s stories are also a part of this national best seller.
Coach D is committed to helping schools and organizations close the achievement gap, increase parental involvement and inspiring students to connect their future dreams to their current education. His Passion Mapping™ process of helping student Connect Dreams To Education™ has benefitted schools, agencies and organizations nationwide. Passion Mapping™ is a process that helps youth identify a life’s passion and connect it to a plan centered on academic success and college preparedness. The ultimate goal is to motivate youth to synergize with all key stakeholders to develop passion plans centered on their personal affinities. Coach D stands by the philosophy a student with a dream is a student with a future; however, a student with a dream is fueled by a caring adult who believes in their dream.
He has been featured on NPR Radio’s Tavis Smiley Show. He was monthly segment guest on Comcast CN8’s Your Morning Talk Show. He is a regular guest on many radio and television programs nationally. He is the recipient of the Philadelphia “40 Under 40” Minority Executive Award as well as many other leadership awards. He is a community leader and serves on several community-based boards. Coach D holds a BS Degree in Business Administration from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania.
Most importantly, he and his wife Pamela have been happily married for 14 years and are the proud parents of three wonderful children, Darrell Jr, Sophia and Alexander.
