More than 20 million children and youth under the age of 18 live in communities of concentrated poverty. The Afterschool Alliance’s America After 3pm Special Report: Afterschool in Communities of Concentrated Poverty provides an overview of the great need for after school and summer learning programs, the barriers to participation, as well as the value of after school and summer learning programs in communities of concentrated poverty. The report includes recommendations to help bring more quality afterschool and summer learning programs to children and families living in communities of concentrated poverty.
