Each year, youth from around the globe participate in International Youth Day on August 12, in order to raise awareness about the situations of the youth in their respective countries. As a way to promote youth leadership, this annual celebration encourages kids to engage in a service project, organization, or program which supports proactive participation in their community. International Youth Day is supported by the World Programme of Action for Youth, which features the most creative projects on their website to commemorate the efforts of youth from around the world.
