Director of Talent and Quality Initiatives, Extended Child Care

I was born and raised in Sonoma County. I started my journey in Expanded Learning during my school-age years as I attended Extended Child Care kinder-6th grade. After graduating high school, I became an Instructional Aide for Extended Child Care. My education revolves around human behavior. Through experience and education, I rose the ECC ladder, directed a site, and now am the Director of Talent and Quality Initiatives/Program Director. I have two AA degrees from Santa Rosa Junior College in child development and behavioral and social sciences, my BA in human development from Sonoma State University, and an MA in psychology from the University of Arizona.

My passion is professional development. My mission is to ensure each child and youth has a safe space in their life and ensure their Expanded Learning teachers have the skillsets to do so. EC was my safe space while home was not, just as it is for many students we serve. Professionally, my experience continues to grow; I am a graduate of the 3-year fellowship program through ASAPconnect for Facilitation, Leadership, and Coaching, I was on the Site Coordinator Network Leadership Team for two years, Senior Certified Trainer for CalSAC, and have been on the Advisory Committee for Region 1 since 2018.

In my off time, I volunteer with Active 20-30 as the Past President of a local club and now Region 5 Director for Active 20-30 US & Canada. I enjoy road trips, hiking with my dogs, music, and art festivals, and spending time near water. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve on the CAN LT!
