The Western Region Office (WFO) is currently accepting nominations for programs participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) or the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) promoting nutritious eating habits for children in the western states. The Summer Sunshine Awards recognize outstanding programs in the following four categories: Program Expansion in Local Communities, Successful Community Partnerships, Reaching Rural and Underserved Communities, and Strategies to Promote Nutrition and Wellness. Applications and nominations must be submitted by October 1, 2014.
