The National Recreation and Park Association is offering grants to park and recreation out-of-school time programs of $1 million in funds from the Walmart Foundation to support children’s health and wellness through park and recreation out-of-school time OST programs. Grantees will receive funding to support their efforts to increase nutritious meals served to youth through the USDA federal nutrition programs, implement nutrition education, and implement healthy eating and physical activity standards. Funding can be used to support programmatic expenses, such as marketing, transportation, large equipment purchases, and nutrition education materials. Grants likely will range from $25,000-$35,000.
