In January, 2014, the Roberts Family Development Center (RFDC) became part of a nationally recognized movement by being selected as one of only 20 organizations nation wide to receive the honor of becoming a Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) Freedom Schools program. For the second summer in a row, RFDC will provide a summer enrichment program to 480 youth with support of various community partners. 

With this opportunity comes the need to recruit and hire college-age young people and recent graduates to play a key role in the
Freedom Schools program. 

The Servant Leader Intern (SLI) is responsible for the care and nurturing of youth. Using the award-winning Integrated Reading Curriculum, they will serve as facilitators in the classroom and as leaders of extracurricular programs and community outreach activities.
