The California State Schools Chief Tom Torlakson announced the adoption of the English Language Arts/English Language Development Framework for CA Public Schools, which merges standards for both English language arts and English learners. Torlakson believes that combining these standards will promote a more diverse learning environment and support students from all different backgrounds.
