On March 24, 2015, former Governor Arnold Swhwarzennegger joined  education, business and law enforcement leaders calling on Congress to preserve federal funding for after-school programs in a proposed reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA, commonly referred to as No Child Left Behind). The former Governor was joined by former U.S. Secretary of Education, Dr. Rod Paige, former California Secretary of Education Bonnie Reiss, Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler, and Silicon Valley industry leaders to advocate the importance of expanded learning programs for youth, families, and communities, citing a strong return on the investment made in expanded learning programs.
