Video Shines Light on Need for ASES Increase

Post

THINK Together recently produced a brief (2-minute) video highlighting the need for an increase to ASES funding. The video highlights the challenge of 10 years of stagnant ASES funding surfacing that “2017 programs are living on a 2006 budget.” These challenges will be compounded by significant increases to minimum wage over the next five years. These cuts are dramatically impacting after school programs, “where are children are given the tools, the time, and the space to succeed in class, at home, and in their lives.” The video highlights the need for support from the state, local school districts, and from parents to address issues impacting California’s ASES programs.
