Sony Corporation Grants

The Sony Corporation offers funding opportunities in several distinct areas: arts education, arts and culture, health and human services, civic and community outreach, education, and volunteerism. Each operating company has its own philanthropic priorities and unique resources. While positive consideration is given to efforts that promote literacy and basic educational competency, the company also seeks to apply its financial, technological, and human resources to the encouragement of the creative, artistic, technical, and scientific skills required of tomorrow's workforce.

JP Morgan Chase Education and Arts Grants

Non-Profit organizations in the California Communities of Central Coast, Central Valley, Los Angeles, Northern California, Kern, San Diego, Imperial, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange are eligible to apply for JP Morgan Chase Grants. Grants support educational opportunities for underprivileged youth as well as school based and after school art programs. Organizations can submit a letter of inquiry online and will be notified if they are requested to submit a full grant application.

Lawrence Foundation Grants

Non-profit organizations are eligible for Lawrence Foundation grants to support education, the environment, and human services. Grants are awarded twice a year. Deadlines for application are April 30th and October 31st. For more information, click here.

Finish Line Youth Foundation Grant

Non-profit community based organizations serving disadvantaged or special needs youth, and addressing active and healthy lifestyles are eligible to apply for Finish Line Youth Foundation Grants for $1,000 - $5,000. These grants are available on an ongoing basis with 2010 deadlines of March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, and December 31st. For more information and to apply click here.

Fender Music Foundation Grants

The Fender Music Foundation accepts electronic grant applications throughout the year from 501(c)3 or governmental organizations. Qualifying applicants are established, ongoing and sustainable music programs in the United States, which provide music instruction for people of any age who would not otherwise have the opportunity to make music. Almost all of the awarded grants are for in-school music classes, in which the students make music, after school music programs that are not run by the school, and music therapy programs, in which the participants make the music.

Verizon Foundation Education and Health Grants

Non-profit organizations, schools (elementary or secondary) and government-funded programs are eligible to apply for funding from the Verizon Foundation.  Grants are awarded to advance literacy and educational achievement, promote health and safety, and prevent domestic violence.  The foundation reviews unsolicited proposals annually from January 1st to October 31st.  Funding decisions are made within 90 days of the grant application.  For more information and to apply, click here.

Captain Planet Grants

The Captain Planet Foundation funds hands-on environmental projects for children and youth. They will fund as many projects as its annual resources allow. In order to be considered for funding, proposals must: focus on hands-on involvement, and include children and young adults ages 6-18 (elementary to high school) with adult supervision. There are multiple Deadline Dates for Captain Planet Grant submission. Upcoming submission dates are September 30, 2009, and December 31, 2009.

Do Something Grants for Youth Projects

Youth under the age of 25 years of age in the United States and Canada who want to create a community action project, or further the success of an existing program are eligible to apply for DoSomething.org Do Something Grants. One grant of $500.00 will be awarded each week in 2009. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and stay active for consideration for two months after submission. Jenesis Group Grants

The Jenesis Group is offering grants to support youth development, education and social entrepreneurship. Nonprofit organizations with 501(c) 3 status are encouraged to apply. The Foundation invests in grass roots organizations working to empower at-risk and/or disadvantaged youth to become productive citizens. Priority is given to programs with preventative approaches and comprehensive long-term solutions to challenges facing youth today.

Do Something Youth Grants

U.S. and Canadian citizens 25 or under are eligible to apply for $500 Plum Youth Grants. These grants are designed to further the growth and success of recently created community action project or organization. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and grants are awarded weekly.
