Comprehensive Service-Learning Training is for anyone working with students or youth groups -- after school or in the classroom. This training will teach strategies to engage students through integrating community service with academic learning; implementing free character education program, rich reflection techniques, and ways to service at your site with no travel costs…all in three easy steps.
- First, what is service-learning? How is it different from community service? We will begin by exploring the three types of service and the elements of service-learning projects.

This free training from 9am-3pm will help afterschool programs address the obesity crisis facing their students. The training is presented by afterschool program managers, Center for Colloaborative Solutions (CCS) consultants and other experts, and is based on CCS' recently published Exemplary Practices in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Food Security guide. Lunch is included. Interactive sessions include practical guidance and resources to strengthen afterschool programs. Designed for Region 9 but open to all.
