“When we gather across communities, we create new possibilities for children and families.”

The Ecosystem Plan Design Team has been hard at work planning the next steps of developing the Ecosystem Plan. Collective imagination gives us the power to envision more than isolated programs; it allows us to design systems that connect schools, afterschool, housing, health, and nutrition.

Hello, and welcome!

Let’s be real—things are rough, heavy, heartbreaking, overwhelming, and scary in many of our communities right now. Though we celebrate Pride Month and Juneteenth, we would be remiss not to acknowledge the immigration raids and inhumane acts of violence, especially in our brown and marginalized communities. We recently shared a message with our Partners, which you can access here.

May Revise Invests More Into Expanded Learning!
Additional $525.5 M for Expanded Learning

May Revise has come! Governor Newsom delivered his May Revision of the California state budget on May 14th.

We are grateful for our Governor’s commitment to education and are happy to see more investment in Expanded Learning funding!

“Here’s a program that I’m deeply prideful of as well. So much attention was rightfully placed by a previous administration, Govenor Arnold Schwarzenegger. There’s a lot of credit for afterschool programs. We’ve 10Xed that.” -Gavin Newsom.

What is the May Revise?

The May Revision, also known as the May Revise, is an update to the governor’s proposed budget released in January. This revision reflects an updated economic and revenue outlook that affects us all. California state law states it must be released before or on May 14th.

This high-level summary indicates changes to the January proposal; it is not detailed and does not include all budget items.
