The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) created the Naloxone Distribution Project (NDP) to combat opioid overdose-related deaths throughout California. Naloxone is a life-saving medication that reverses an opioid overdose. There are two Ways to Access Naloxone for Opioid Overdose Prevention. California public schools can also request four free doses of NARCAN nasal spray through the Emergent BioSolutions Free Goods Program.
