The 89.3 KPCC – Southern California Public Radio recently released the story, “State Wage Increase May Cause Some After-School Programs to Close.” The story states that after-school programs are struggling to stay open with the daily rate being stagnant at $7.50 per student. Programs are struggling to pay it’s employees the minimum wage and predict that without any monetary relief (ideally receiving a daily rate increase to $9.00 per student), programs will begin to lay off employees or close entirely.
