Learning In Afterschool and Summer (LIAS) recently shared a helpful blog with tips and promising practices to support youth with their volunteer efforts. Begin by talking to children and youth about what issues really matter to them and what causes they would like to help. Then, after identifying one or two particular causes, children/youth can collaborate on research to identify organizations that need and welcome volunteer support from children/youth. Here are a few ideas to consider:

  1. Start volunteering locally.
  2. Try national volunteer organizations.
  3. Go straight to the source.
