The effort has become a hallmark of the afterschool movement and generates media coverage across the country each year.

This year’s Symposium will take place February 8th– 9th, 2019, at the Queen Mary located in Long Beach, CA.  Partners throughout the state of California are excited to bring this special opportunity for Site Coordinators to learn from and alongside other Site Coordinators with in the expanded learning field.

CAN is a proud partner of the annual statewide California Afterschool & Summer Challenge, hosted by CalSAC, which educates and empowers professionals, youth, and families to engage in grassroots advocacy.

In addition to helping advance the out-of-school time field, this advocacy experience helps show young people and emerging leaders how to speak out and use their voices to create change.
