Dear Whole Child Health and Wellness Team,

Many thanks to everyone who was able to make the December 18 launch of the Collaborative to Advance Whole Child Health and Wellness. We think you will agree that it was an extraordinary day. We deeply appreciate the gift of time that you made to the launch of this strategic planning process.

We are happy to provide a brief two-page summary of the amazing work that was accomplished that day with links to the full body of notes.

We are equally grateful to everyone who volunteered to be part of this planning effort going forward. Our Support Team is forming work groups based on the priorities identified on December 18 and we will be back with you soon regarding next steps.

Forgot to volunteer to be part of this effort or weren’t able to make it to the December 18 event? No worries – there are plenty of ways to get involved as we move forward. Please let us know the best way for you to engage here.

This note would not be complete without expressing our deep gratitude to the amazing facilitation team that really made December 18 so successful: Diego Arancibia (ASAPconnect), Andi Fletcher (California Health Policy Strategies), Tiffany Gipson (California AfterSchool Network), Ayala Goldstein (CalSAC), Daniel Hatcher (Alliance for a Healthier Generation),  Randy Mehrten (United Way of Fresno and Madera Counties), Bruno Marchesi (U.S. Soccer Foundation), Isabelle Mussard (CalSAC),  Amira Resnick (Alliance for a Healthier Generation), Jason Riggs (Extended Child Care Coalition of Sonoma County), Aleah Rosario (Foundation for California Community Colleges), Femi Vance (American Institutes for Research), Troy Selvey (California AfterSchool Network) Tony Smith (Whyspeople), and David Yusem (Oakland Unified School District).

This year is going to be special in many ways – not the least of which will be the advances we make with Whole Child Health and Wellness. We’re eagerly looking forward to partnering with you on this journey.

Sincerely,

Jeff Davis and Heather Williams
