May 27, 2022

CA Department of Education logoThe California Department of Education (CDE), Expanded Learning Division (EXLD) is pleased to announce that the grant reduction process for the calendar year 2022 attendance is suspended. This applies to all After School Education and Safety, 21st Century Community Learning Center Elementary and Middle School, and all high school After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens grants.

The EXLD staff will still review all attendance submitted. If a program site has significantly low attendance, the grantee will be contacted by their System of Support for Expanded Learning Regional Team. The EXLD is still requiring attendance to be submitted on time in the After School Support and Information System database. If a grantee submits zero attendance for a site, it will be billed back by the EXLD for those funds.

As a result of this change, the EXLD will not require any Attendance Relief forms for the calendar year 2022.

Thank you for doing all you can to provide California students and families with the support they need during this time.
