21st CCLC Supplemental RFA Update – Correction on Dual Funded Sites
November 6, 2025
The Expanded Learning Division (EXLD) would like to provide you with a brief update regarding the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Supplemental Request for Applications (RFA) that was due Friday, October 31, 2025. The EXLD received 320 applications, with a total request of $364,250,000 in funding.
During an October 3, 2025, RFA Office Hours and an October 17, 2025, office hours meeting, a participant asked whether a dual-funded school site (a site funded with both an ASES grant and a 21st CCLC grant) could apply for and receive two Supplemental grants. While the California Department of Education initially responded that a dual-funded site could receive two Supplemental grants for one site, this is incorrect. A dual-funded school site cannot receive two Supplemental grants; this is not allowable and there is no language in the RFA that would permit this. If you are a dual-funded site and submitted a Supplemental RFA for both the ASES and 21st CCLC grants at your site, the site is only eligible to receive one Supplemental grant.
The EXLD apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have any questions pertaining to this issue, please contact the Expanded Learning Division at expanedlearning@cde.ca.gov.
