The Expanded Learning Division is pleased to announce the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) III Summer Grant Program Request for Applications (RFA). ESSER III Summer Grant Program RFA

The purpose of the ESSER III Summer Grant Program is for the implementation of evidence-based summer enrichment programs, and to ensure such programs respond to students’ academic, social, and emotional needs as well as address the disproportionate impact of the coronavirus on the student populations described in Section 1111(b)(2)(B)(xi) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (20 United States Code [U.S.C.] 6311[b][2][B][xi]), students experiencing homelessness, and children and youth in foster care.

There will be two buckets of funding for the ESSER III Summer Grant Program:

1. For existing ASES grantees: The total amount available is $118,214,000 million starting in the fiscal year 2021–22 and continuing through August 31, 2023. Funding is available to the 11 California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA) regions (map located on the CCSESA website at https://ccsesa.org/regions/) per the table below:

Funding is available to the 11 CCSESA regions (map located on the CCSESA website at https://ccsesa.org/regions/) per the table below:
