1. FY2025-26 ASES Round 2 Live in ASSIST

The Expanded Learning Division (EXLD) is pleased to inform you that the After School Support and Information System (ASSIST) has been updated to include the sites and grantees awarded in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025–26 After School Education and Safety (ASES) Universal Round 2 application process.
For new Grantees and existing Grantees:
- Please submit a budget revision for FY 2025–26 through ASSIST for the ASES program grants in preparation for the expenditure report.
- The EXLD is working quickly to prepare the Grant Award Notifications.

2. CALPADS End-of-Year (EOY) Submission Opened May 5 and is Due by July 17, 2026!
Sent on May 4, 2026, to Local Educational Agency (LEA) Representatives, from the CALPADS Team.
The California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) 2025–26 End-of-Year (EOY) Submission Window opened on May 5.
Please refer to the California Department of Education (CDE) CALPADS Calendar web page for submission details, including recommended dates by which your LEA should endeavor to have zero fatal errors: https://www.cde.ca.gov/ds/sp/cl/rptcalendar.asp.
EOY Submission Windows:
EOY 1
- EOY 1 Submission Window Opens: May 5, 2026
- EOY 1 Certification Deadline: July 17, 2026
- LEAs should strive to have zero fatal errors by June 26.
- Amendment Window for EOY 1: Begins July 18; closes on July 31, 2026

3. New Attendance Recovery (AR) Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Available!

The California Department of Education (CDE) website has published updates to the Attendance Recovery Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): https://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/it/aarecovery.asp
This update adds new FAQs, clearer distinctions between Attendance Recovery and the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program, and expanded average daily attendance (ADA) reporting and accounting details – including a step-by-step explanation of how Attendance Recovery ADA is calculated.
