CI-STEM- Exploring the Relationship Between Continuous Improvement Culture and Afterschool STEM Program Quality

Afterschool grant managers, site coordinators, and site staff: you are invited to participate in pilot-testing a survey that will be administered in Fall 2021, 2022, and 2023 to California afterschool programs.

SRI Education is conducting a research study that is collecting large-scale data on continuous quality improvement practices and on STEAM afterschool programming. The survey results will show how continuous quality improvement and STEAM are handled statewide and will inform quality improvement in expanded learning programs. Pilot-testing the survey helps ensure that it uses accurate and clear language and is relevant to respondents’ experiences. Please consider helping with the survey pilot so that the results of the survey will be useful to you and your colleagues.

There are two ways to participate in the pilot:

  • Interview: talk through the draft survey with one or two researchers and share your feedback about the survey items. The interview will take place via Zoom. The time commitment is 45-60 minutes.
  • Survey: respond to the draft survey online. The time commitment is approximately 15 minutes.

Participation in the survey pilot test and the research study is voluntary. All participants will receive gift cards for their time.

If you are interested in participating in the survey pilot test, by interview and/or survey, please contact the study coordinator, Bowyee Gong, at bowyee.gong@sri.com. Also, please feel free to forward this notice to your colleagues.
