CDE has released updates in school health. 

COVID-19 Vaccines now distributed to children ages five to eleven 

The director of the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention endorsed a recommendation to vaccinate children five to eleven. Schools are now able to promote Pfizer as safe and effective to those in the age range. 

How to Create School Site Vaccination Events

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the CDE partnered to offer COVID-19 vaccines and other routine immunizations to school vaccination sites. There is a website created for School-Located vaccination sites looks at how districts can become providers to disseminate vaccines. 

CDPH Updated COVID-19 Testing Guidance

The CDPH updated its COVID-19 testing guidance. Antigen tests are acceptable for determining the presence or absence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and repeated antigen testing should be done for those with COVID-19 specific symptoms. 

Spending Federal Stimulus Funds for Capital Expenditures for COVID Mitigation

CDE provided an overview on how COVID-19 Federal Stimulus Funds can be used for capital expenditures, like ventilation. The ESSER I, II, III and the GEER I can be used for capital expenditures, which would include HVAC upgrades, window replacements, and enhanced ventilation systems. Details are here.
