FY 2026-27 ASES Universal RFA Open

The Expanded Learning Division (EXLD) of the California Department of Education (CDE) is pleased to announce the release of the ASES Universal Program Request for Applications (RFA). Awarded funding will also begin on July 1, 2026, for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026–27.
The ASES Universal FY 26–27 RFA is for new program sites or for current grantees seeking to apply for additional site(s) and/or increased funding up to the legislative cap. The ASES Universal FY 26–27 RFA can be found on the CDE Funding Opportunities webpage, located under RFA: After School Education and Safety (CA Dept of Education). The RFA will provide background and details of all the application requirements.

Grantees must submit an electronic copy of the application to the Expanded Learning Division (EXLD) by email at ExpandedLearning@cde.ca.gov no later than February 24, 2026, at 4:00 P.M. When emailing, please include your agency name, ASSIST-generated identification number, and “ASES Universal FY 26-27 Funding Application” in the subject line. The application forms should be attached to the email. Application forms are available in the After School Support and Information System (ASSIST).
Mailed or in-person delivery of applications to the CDE is not permitted; all applications must be submitted electronically.
