Understanding Gaps in Food Insecurity for Children in Housing

HousED is collecting information from staff and residents with children living in public and affordable housing to gauge what gaps in food insecurity and meal assistance their children and young people are facing. Take a quick 2 minute survey to make sure everyone is able to eat and be healthy during the pandemic.

How Housing Can Create an Afterschool Meals Program

The physical, emotional, and economic impact of this pandemic is exacerbating the increased need for food assistance across the country, while simultaneously creating new challenges for families to access healthy food. Food banks are struggling to keep up with demand and other food programs are ending.

Check out Partnership for Children & Youth’s webinar recording on how community-based agencies can become meal sites to provide free, healthy meals to all children and teens in the community.

HousED Quality Standards: Virtual/Blended Learning Addendum

While much of our world and day-to-day programming have shifted as a result of COVID-19, the basic tenants of youth development have not changed. The science of learning and development still says young people need strong relationships with caring adults that foster a sense of belonging.

To reflect current changes in programming in response to COVID-19, Partnership for Children & Youth has added three standards for virtual/blended learning to the Quality Self-Assessment Tool for Expanded Learning Programs in Public and Affordable Housing:

  • Standard A: Critical Response Support
  • Standard B: Household Learning Environment
  • Standard C: Distance and Blended Learning
