STEM Committee Guest Speaker Application

The California Afterschool Network’s STEM Committee is looking for guest speakers to share their insight on effectively working with and engaging STEM in out-of-school time programs!We know there are many of you out there doing great work with STEM and we invite you to submit an application to become a guest speaker to share your work at one of the committee calls throughout the year.We are interested in having presenters from the field, or technical assistance providers who are able to share strategies or best practices about effectively supporting STEM in after school.We are looking for presentations on various topics approximately 15 minutes in length followed by a 5 min Q & A session. Please see the list of possible topic categories within the application below to get a better sense of what we are looking for.
We have webinar and telephone conference capabilities so that you are able to share PowerPoint slides, documents, flyers, etc. This is a great opportunity to share your work so please apply!
Application Criteria
- Quality of Information: Information clearly relates to the main topic. It includes several supporting details and/or examples.
- Relevancy to Audience: Information is relevant to STEM committee work. Provides several practices relevant to STEM committee work.
- Adaptable to the STEM in OST/ASP field: Clearly identifies replicable or adaptable strategies for the STEM in OST/ASP field. Offers several adaptable practices that can be replicated in the STEM in OST/ASP field.
- Understanding of Supporting Research: Clearly aligns to research-based data. Provides several examples of supporting data.
- Evidence of Promising Practice: Clearly shows evidence of both quantitative and qualitative data. Provides several examples of qualitative and quantitative data.
